Mendi Party

After the rehearsal dinner, the girls and I headed back to our apartment to finish up a few small projects and have some more fun bonding time. My wonderful friend, Shannon, had offered to do henna for everyone so we ended up having a short Mendi Party. A Mendi Party is a traditional Indian/Hindu ritual which takes place the day before the wedding. Traditionally they are an all day affair and the brides sits for many, many hours getting decorated for the wedding. One of the main reasons for having a Mendi Party is to allow the older women in the bride’s life to have time to spend with her and for them to share their wisdom on marriage and relationships. I was so blessed to have so many wonderful women around me to share my last night as a single woman. I was also very glad to have met my goal of not being up until the wee hours of the morning the night before the wedding doing DIY projects. Yay for being OCD!!!

Eventually, Maria insisted that I needed to go to bed, so we all said goodnight.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Shannon for sharing your time and your gift! If you would like to have Shannon come out and do a bridal event, baby shower, or just a women's celebration, she has started her own henna tattoo business. Just leave a comment and I'll be more than happy to get you her information.

Next up... the WEDDING DAY.
